Hi everyone, Czarina here from Celebrate Aotearoa. As many of you know, our doors were closed for the past 4-6 weeks. This time was tough on us all, not just as a business but for our creative community. Despite these challenges, our 'Operation Store Open' mission to refresh our space paid off, allowing us to reopen just in time/ alongside the Te Ara Rama Matariki Light Trail.

Celebrating this we hosted Vasemaca Tavola /Vunilagi Vou, popping up in our space on Saturday evening. Going in with zero expectations it was a lovely evening with well wishers passing through and customers coming from as far as South and West Auckland.

I’m so stoked and relieved to announce Celebrate Aotearoa is now back open! While we still have more cleaning and organizing ahead of us, we are excited to welcome you back to our refreshed space. Our current hours are Tuesday to Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM.

The roadworks are still directly outside our store front, but hopefully the main digging etc has been done. So not long to go before the fenceline is fully removed! You can still access from each end (outside Tamaki Regeneration) and REHA Care. With parking below or if coming in the weekend directly opposite the store at the Glen Innes Park n' Ride.

Thank you for your continuous support and understanding during these times. We can’t wait to share all the cool things we have in store for you!

See you soon,

Czarina

As the cool breeze of Matariki flows through the air, signaling the Maori New Year, we at Celebrate Aotearoa are bustling with activity and excitement. Matariki isn't just a time for celebration; it's a period of renewal and reflection, setting the perfect stage for the significant transformations at our beloved store.

Preparing for a Grand Reopening

The journey to our reopening continues to overcome challenges, including the persistent roadworks. Although they still pose obstacles, improvements are visible with a newly laid footpath and the ongoing development of the parking area. Inside, our focus is on creating an environment that reflects the freshness of the season and the spirit of Matariki. We are meticulously cleaning every part of our store, ensuring it is spotless and welcoming for when our doors open again.

We are Hiring! Become a part of our story

It was with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to our part-timer, Zvaryn, who left our nest recently. Zvaryn joined us during our busiest season, Christmas 2023, and quickly became an integral part of our team. She excelled in every task, handling them with accuracy and speed, and became well-acquainted with our entire catalogue of New Zealand creatives hosted at Celebrate Aotearoa. We're incredibly grateful for her contributions and proud of her achievements. Given the current economic challenges, we were unable to offer more permanent hours—a decision that was tough for all involved. We wish Zvaryn (pictured with her visual merchandised display) all the best in her future endeavors. Should the opportunity arise for her to return, she would always be welcomed back with open arms.

This departure has made it clear that to continue growing, we still need help. So we are now actively looking for someone to join us in a casual role. We seek someone who takes great pride in customer service and is eager to learn about the amazing artists and makers we represent—an integral part of our mission. If you have 2-5 years of retail customer-facing experience and are looking for a dynamic work environment, we encourage you to apply.

For a detailed list of role expectations you can contact us via email, otherwise send your application now to celebrateaotearoa@gmail.com with cover letter and CV. Applications close Friday 5th July 2024.

Eager for what's next

The day when the store will reopen is approaching, and we cannot wait! So don't forget, stay connected through our social media channels for the latest updates. Details about our reopening, along with information on upcoming promotions and events, will be shared there.

These are tough times in retail, especially with the current economic climate, and we genuinely appreciate your support.

Warm regards,

Czarina Wilson
