Kia Ora, Malo e lelei.
Some of you will recognise me as the person behind Celebrate Aotearoa—a retail space dedicated to uplifting artists and makers across Aotearoa and the Pacific. After some time focusing on my small business, I’m now excited to announce I am making a return to my own creative practice.
I’m a New Zealand-born Tongan–Scottish designer and textile artist with deep roots in the creative industry. Known for my cultural design lens and fearless approach to fabric, my work blends storytelling with form.
This year, I’ll be showing at New Zealand Fashion Week 2025 as part of the Kahui Collective—a group of Indigenous Designers founded by Kiri Nathan. The collection is rooted in memory, legacy, and reclamation, drawing on quilting influences to create bold silhouettes and one-off pieces that resist mass production. This is slow fashion with cultural weight—layered, intentional, and grounded in identity.

I realise there may be people who want to support this journey but might not be in a position to contribute at a higher level. So, I’ve created a special collection of decorations inspired by my cultural background—designed to help raise funds towards the many costs involved. Every bit helps, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to look, share, or support in any way. I will be adding to this page as time goes on with more of my works as well.
Please note the decorations are pre-order only, ready for collection or to be sent out NZFW August 2025. The prints are available now.
If you'd like a copy of my NZFW prospectus and full budget breakdown, feel free to email me at czarinaw@gmail.com.
