Hello, Celebrate Aotearoa family and friends!
I'm excited to reconnect with you all through this blog post, especially after what has been a rollercoaster of events these past few months/year. Many of you joined us on August 24th for a market that turned out to be not just a gathering but a showcase of the incredible spirit of our creative community. Coming out of a personal loss and straight into the hustle of organizing the event was challenging, but thanks to our amazing creatives and loyal supporters, the day was a resounding success despite a few quirky challenges, like our infamous mood lighting!
One of the reasons we’ve been somewhat quiet since then was the uncertainty surrounding our lease renewal. We were in limbo for a while, which understandably slowed things down on our end. However, I am thrilled to share that we have successfully renewed our lease at 3/260 Apirana Ave, Glen Innes! This renewal marks not just a continued commitment to our space but also to our mission as a small business that, like many others, has faced both financial and personal hardships this past year.
The strength and support of our creative community have been the backbone of our ability to persevere. The dedication shown by all who participated and supported our August market underlines the incredible power of collective effort. I cannot thank you enough for pulling together, particularly when I needed it the most.
As we look forward, we are not slowing down. Heading into our busiest trading period, we are excited to announce we are planning to host two collective markets in November and December and will be releasing more information and vendor applications on these events very soon, so stay tuned!
For now, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone — our amazing creatives, dedicated staff past and present and hopefully soon to be present lol, and of course to our wonderful customers and supporters. Your ongoing support is what enables us to keep going, to innovate and shapeshift, and to continue providing a platform where local art and creativity can grow and thrive.
With gratitude,
Czarina Wilson Owner and Founder, Celebrate Aotearoa
